Hi, I'm Jonas Spengler!

I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Cambridge (Judge Business School).

My research explores how social innovators experience and navigate the tensions inherent in tackling grand societal challenges. I am particularly interested in utopias - the dreams and nightmares of the future that pervade our imaginations and drive our behavior.

I use ethnographic methods to study grassroots organizations in refugee camps, a Mennonite colony in rural Paraguay, and an NGO working in Indigenous communities.
